Explanation of the calculation in four steps
Step 1 - Number of minutes
You need to find out how many minutes the song has been played on the various radio channels.
Example: 208 plays of a song in three minutes gives a play time of 624 minutes
Step 2 - Your minute points
To get minute points, you must find your role code on the song.
Once you have found your role code, you can see in the score table below how many points you get for the song.

When there is only one performer on the song, the table shows zero points for role code B. If you perform alone on a song, you automatically have role code A. It is not possible to be just one performer on a song with role code B.
Score table for role code C:

a musical director

In the table for role code C, a conductor or musical leader gets 5 points regardless of how many other performers there are on the song.
* If a song has several people with role code C, the 5 points are divided between these.
Example: Distribution of points on a song with nine people:
The three band members receive role code A and 12 points
The five contributors receive role code B and 2 points, since they are a total of eight A's and B's
The conductor receives role code C and 5 points
Calculate your minute points
When you know how many minutes the song has been played on a given channel, and your role code on the song, you can calculate your minute points.
Minutes x Points = Minute points
You need the minute points later to calculate the amount
Step 3 - Find the Gramo rate
The last factor you need in order to calculate the amount is the Gramo rate. The Gramo rate differs for the radio channels you calculatee from.
The Gramo rate is multiplied by the number of minutes the song has been played on a given channel.
In this article we use an example with Gramo rates for music played on the radio in 2019.

Step 4 - Calculation of the amount:
When you have an overview of the numer of minutes the song has been played on a given channel, calculated the minute points and found the Gramo rate, you can calculate the amount to be paid out.
Minute points x Gramo rate = Amount to be paid
Calculation example:
How much do the different participants earn on a song with the following ensemble and radio play?
Three band members - role code A
Five musical contributors - role code B
One conductor - role code C
Played for 624 minutes
Summary:
If we follow the steps above, we will find the following:
Step 1: Minutes
Number of minutes = 624
Step 2: Minute points
The number of minute points depends on the role code.
Role code:
The three band members receive role code A and 12 points
The five contributors get role code B and 2 points, because they constitute eight A's and B's
The conductor receives role code C and 5 points
Minutes:
The three band members : 12 points x 624 minutes = 7488 minute points
The five contributors : 2 points x 624 minutes = 1249 minute points
Conductor : 5 points x 624 minutes = 3120 minute points
Step 3: Gramo rates
Find the Gramo rate for the channel you want to calculate, for example 0.54
Step 4: Calculation of the amount
Role code A :
7488 minute points x 0.54 gramo rate = 4043.52 NOKRole code B :
1249 minute points x gramo rate 0.54 = 674.46 NOKRole code C :
3120 minute points x gramo rate 0.54 = 1684.8 NOK
