Gramo's purpose is to prevent you having to pay every single artist, musician, and record company directly for the music you use in your radio broadcasts.

If you use music in your radio broadcasts, you must, according to Norwegian law, pay the rights holder of the music. The provisions are in the Copyright Act § 21 and the regulations of the Act.

The Ministry of Culture has approved Gramo to collect and distribute the money (remuneration) on behalf of the musicians, artists and record companies.
